That's okay, too! There are even cases of Pokémon themselves not wanting to evolve, and that's totally natural. Evolution is sort of a natural growth that both the Pokémon itself and you as the trainer have control over.

[ she holds out her hand towards Eevee, offering it to smell. ] But you probably don't have to worry about that for awhile anyway... he's only just hatched, after all. I just wanted to give you the info early.

[volcanic]

[ He nods. Not exactly 'enthusiastically,' but for him, well. It's a step in the right happy direction. ]

Uh, thanks, Mei. [ He's blushing a little. He really is happy! ] I'll take good care of it-- him.

I know you will! That's why I chose you, after all. [ she responds by smiling brightly. anything that could be taken as a happy gesture is good enough for her! the cute blush doesn't hurt, either. ]

Did you want to give him a nickname?

[volcanic]

I can do that?

Of course you can! Lots of people use nicknames as a way to feel closer to their Pokémon. Since you're his trainer, it's completely up to you.

[volcanic]

Um... do I have to now? I don't know what a good name would be yet. [ Gotta see his personality first!! ]

Nope! But I'd think of it soon so he can get used to it easier... For now, just Eevee should work. Right?

[ she poses the question to the small fox, who barks in confirmation before nuzzling into her hand. ]

I bet you're hungry, huh? Hatching sure sounds like it would rack up an appetite.

[volcanic]

I think of one. [ He nods a little, mostly to himself. ]

Eh, does it need milk too?

[aspertia]

Yep. You can start with milk for now, and move on to solid food later on. C'mon, let's get him some!

[ she stands up and stretches before leaving the room. that's your cue to take care of your Eevee, Iceland. ]

[volcanic]

[ He will very gently scoop him up before sauntering to the kitchen. ]

How often do I have to feed him? And how much? [ You can tell this boy is eager to learn...

He actually kind of realizes his excitement and goes quiet for a second. ] Maybe you could write it down, or something?

Three meals a day with snacks in between should do the trick... but he'll let you know if he wants more. Trust me.

[ baby Pokemon are notoriously picky about mealtimes, from her experiences. there was a nice, solid hole burned into her wallet whenever she hatched an egg from the daycare. ]

[volcanic]

Okay. [ Eevee barks again. ]

[ she's very nosily sticking her head into the fridge when he addresses her, but she turns her head and flashes him a smile. ]

No need to thank me! I love helping friends and I love taking care of Pokemon, so doing both is something I'd never miss!

[ aaaaaand back to the fridge. maybe she'll make herself a snack while she's at it. ]
